Seven armed suspects were arrested by police following an attempted hold-up targeting passengers aboard a Public Motor Vehicle (PMV) bus at Koki Bus Stop.
According to police reports, victims alerted authorities via WhatsApp, reporting suspicious and threatening behaviour by multiple individuals onboard the PMV. Police immediately responded by deploying three specialised units to intercept the bus.
The PMV was successfully stopped at Koki Bus Stop, where officers conducted a coordinated operation and arrested all seven suspects. Searches conducted at the scene revealed that the suspects were in possession of illegal substances and offensive weapons, believed to have been intended for use during the attempted robbery.
All suspects were transported to the police station for further investigation and processing. Victims were advised to provide formal statements to assist police with criminal charges related to attempted robbery, possession of illegal substances, and unlawful possession of weapons.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
